• Beech Tree reduction and clean up.*Apologies for video quality in advance*Recently we undertook some heavy maintenance on this fantastic Beech tree. • Unfortunately the home owner woke up one morning to find a huge amount of the canopy collapsed on the floor and stuck in the tree. • Mature Beech trees have a tendency of suffering branch failures in the height of summer due to the limbs becoming too heavy (very simple explanation, but a detailed explanation is available in the comment section of this video.)• After a visual assessment of the tree, which included a climber inspecting the canopy, and a client who wanted to preserve the tree for as long as safely possible, we decided to first remove all the broken and damaged limbs. Then we reduced the canopy by approx 2-3m in the top and 4-6m in the lateral heavy limbs that may be prone to future failure.• It has now been recommended to our client that a regular inspection/maintenance plan should be carried out over the coming years to help preserve this fantastic tree. ... • Removal of dead Elm Trees on Lincoln rd, Horncastle.- A number of weeks ago we were hired to remove three dead Elm trees which unfortunately had succumbed to Dutch Elm disease.- With a number of obstacles which included a bridge, two out buildings, house and of corse the main road we decided to dismantle these two dead trees with a grapple saw truck via Wallace Timber Services.- Why a grapple saw?🙋‍♀️🙋🙋🏻‍♂️1. SafetyAfter carrying out the initial site visit and visual risk assessment it was decided that the trees were too dead to allow a climber to enter the canopy, infact we did not want a individual near the tree during the diamantle due to the fragile state of the trees, so a cherry picker was out of the question also.2. Time/CostWith correct planning of sub contractors and our team we were able to carry out all three dismantles in one working day, along with the removal of 6tons of woodchip and approx 10tons of timber (but Dan Emmerson may correct me on that). This allowed our client to only pay for one days traffic management which can be costly. ... See MoreSee Less

Second day with @wallacetimberservices was removing this very awkward uprooted Beech tree from a private lake. With a very steep bank and no access for cherry pickers or cranes, the only way was to walk out on it and have Al and his crane peel it back in sections. Shame the final cut wouldn’t hold on a touch longer to pull around, but it didn’t make much difference in the end. We went fishing at the end for stray branches which proved the most tricky bit of the day 😂 #tree #treesurgery #treeclimbing #treeclimber #arb #arborist #crane #forestry ... See MoreSee Less

Pine Removal• A couple of weeks ago, when the sun was still shining!, our team of four qualified and fully insured arborists were able to complete this Pine tree removal. • Even though it was relatively straight forward we had to be extremely careful of the wall below, along with a number of smaller trees below the canopy.• All the timber will be used either for fire wood or milling and the wood chip will go to bio-mass.• Atkinson Arb work on mature specimens every week, from removals to maintenance, this allows us to be one of the most efficient teams in the area when it comes to large tree work. ...
